Mr. Viego was born in Miami, Florida and graduated from Coral Gables Senior High School.  He was a swimmer at the University of Miami Swim Club for 8 years and Captain of his high school swim team. He participated in three High School State Championships ranking Sixth in the State for the Fifty yard freestyle.  The Miami Herald twice voted Mr. Viego as an All-Dade Swimmer.

At Florida International University, Mr. Viego was a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity.  He was a vital participant of the SigEp Wrestling Federation which raised thousands of dollars for the Children’s Miracle Network.  Mr. Viego’s studies continued at the University of Florida where he obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science.  

At St. Thomas University School of Law, Mr. Viego was a member of the Cuban American Bar Association.  He also interned at the Miami-Dade Public Defender’s Office.  Additionally, he worked as a law clerk for In-House Counsel at a large multi-state corporation.   

Throughout his time in Law School, Mr. Viego was very successful in athletic as well as academic competition.  He placed third at the AAU World Powerlifting Championships.  He was also a vital member and brief writer for the International Moot Court Team which was awarded third place among 22 other law schools in the Jessup Southeast Regional International Moot Court Competition.
