Ms. Collazo was born and raised in Miami, FL, where she attended and graduated from Southwest Miami Senior High School.
After receiving her high school diploma, Ms. Collazo applied and was accepted into the San Francisco Art Institute where she received her Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts, with a concentration in Photography. While attending school at the San Francisco Art Institute, Ms. Collazo's photographic works were prominently displayed in local galleries, as well as abroad in Europe where she was subsequently published. In addition to her photography, Ms. Collazo had several sound pieces, as well as installation art pieces, displayed locally with notable national artists. Additionally, while at the San Francisco Art Institute, Ms. Collazo had the pleasure of teaching at-risk middle school and high school students about art, the process of creating art, as well as how to analyze the world around them and their interactions with it to create relevant and thoughtful artwork, as part of a Youth Arts Collaborative Program. One of the programs she taught was conducted in conjunction with the San Francisco Superior Courthouse. It was during this Collaborative, that Ms. Collazo began to explore law and our culture’s relationship with it.
Having graduated from such a rigorous and competitive program, Ms. Collazo decided to challenge herself further and pursue the study of law at Temple University's Beasley School of Law. While attending law school, Ms. Collazo furthered her studies by completing clinicals with both Public Defender's offices in the cities of Philadelphia, PA, as well as Camden, NJ. Additionally, while in law school, Ms. Collazo worked as a law clerk for The Law Offices of Robert T. Vance, an employment discrimination and human rights firm.
After receiving her Juris Doctorate from Temple University, Ms. Collazo returned to South Florida having secured a position with the Florida State Attorney's Office in Miami-Dade County as a certified legal intern. In this position, Ms. Collazo successfully prosecuted a variety of misdemeanor crimes and obtained several favorable jury verdicts.
Thereafter, in 2008, Ms. Collazo made the switch to civil law and joined Rudd & Diamond, P.A. where she currently practices law in the field of insurance defense.
