Ms. Shapiro was born in New York, New York.  In 2001, she graduated early from Penn State University with a Bachelor of Science in Finance and an emphasis in Accounting.  Prior to Law School, she was employed in the financial industry, working as a financial advisor and most recently as a compliance administrator.  She became a licensed registered representative for Morgan Stanley Dean Witter, at which time she acquired her Series 7, Series 66, Future & Commodities, and Life & Health Insurance License.  
In 2007, Ms. Shapiro graduated with high honors from Brooklyn Law School ranked in the top 9% of the class.  Over the course of her law school career, she was awarded five Dean’s List acknowledgements as well as five CALI Awards for Academic Excellence—awards bestowed upon the student with the highest grade in a particular class, including Legal Writing and Research I, Legal Writing and Research II, Property, Trusts & Estates, and Criminal Procedure.  At graduation, Ms. Shapiro was the recipient of the Robert A. Morse Memorial Prize as well as the Greenfield, Eisenberg, Stein and Senior Law Firm Prize for her accomplishments in Criminal Procedure and Trusts & Estates.   

During law school, Ms. Shapiro was selected to participate in a competitive internship program with the United States Attorney’s Office in the Southern District of New York, Major Crimes Unit.  She also gained experience in securities regulation and enforcement at the New York Stock Exchange, Enforcement Division as well as the Kings County District Attorney’s Office, Economic Crime Division.  On July 20, 2006, Ms. Shapiro was chosen to ring the opening bell of the New York Stock Exchange.

Ms. Shapiro is currently licensed to practice in both Florida and New York.  Prior to joining Rudd & Diamond, P.A. she worked in the Regulatory Compliance & Trade Practice Division of Greenspoon Marder, P.A.
